My Record Collection

Hi hello! Back with a brand new post and a newly designed blog! It's taken me a while to figure out what I wanted to do and how to make it possible. But here we are, I'm obsessed with the new look and think that it's going to be great going forward. I've also got a lot of cool posts coming up!!! x

As most of you guys know, I'm a huge music lover and so when I got my record player a couple of years ago, I was so excited to start listening to music in a new way. I never wanted a record player to be cool or on trend but because I loved the way that music sounded on it. The scratchiness and rawness of the music is what I think is the coolest thing about listening to music on records. When I first started collecting records I didn't really know where to start. The first record I bought was The Beatles "Abbey Road" and it's one of my favourites that I own.

I don't have a whole bunch of records but here are some that I can listen to on repeat and never get tired of. I wanted to share some of my favourites so if you're ever out looking for records or happen to find one of these you'll be able to see exactly why I love them! Some are new records and some are classics.

Divide by Ed Sheeran
Harry Styles by Harry Styles
The Sound of Music by Rogers and Hammerstein (Original Broadway Cast)
Abbey Road by The Beatles
Barbara Streisand 'Live Concert at The Forum' by Barbara Streisand
USA For Africa - We Are The World by Various Artists

Over the couple of years I've had my record player, I found it hard to find good places to buy records. Whether you're looking for new or old records here are a list of places you may be able to find some.

Value Village: These stores usually have a large selection of records. It takes some time to go through them but most times I'm able to find some cool records. The price point for these are typically very cheap which makes going through them worth it
Black Market - Shortstack Records: The Black Market in Toronto has a section of music from  Shortstacks Records. They have some great pieces that vary from old records to some recent music as well. The prices for these ones depends on the artist and the age of the record.
Urban Outfitters: They have a huge collection of records. Most of it is new music but they sometimes have classics as well. Buying records here will typically cost you more because the music is new but they do have a good selection if you're looking for newer music.
