How To Make The Best Goals For 2019

Hello 2019!

My first post of the year is going to be all about setting the best goals for 2019. January is the month where everyone has new goals and resolutions that they want to achieve in the new year. Although setting goals can be tiresome and you figure you'll probably give up within the first month, I believe that it's still a good way to guide and give perspective into how you want your year to go.

When making goals, my first tip is to be practical. Giving yourself goals that you know you can get done allows you to be more motivated in completing them. This year I really want to be more active. So say you're a full-time student like me, who wants to start working out everyday. Depending on your schedule, it might be best to start at 2-3 days a week and build from there. Starting small allows you to celebrate the small victories. With whatever goal you set for yourself, remember to celebrate the little things, like doing a workout even though you really really didn't want to (me before every workout lol).

Another thing is to be specific when planning your goals. A goal for me this year is to do more writing. If you just say that you want to do it, with no clear plan on how to achieve that, it's very likely that that goal will just go out the window. If you take 15 mins to map out how you can reach all of your goals for this year, you will have a better chance of accomplishing them because you're able to see all of the steps to your success and it will make you want to do all of those things to accomplish your goals.

Lastly, remember that with your process of reaching your goal, it's important to just do your best. There will be days that you don't do anything that goes towards attaining your goal and that's okay. Don't let failing on one day stop you from picking right back up where you left off. Everyday is a fresh start and a new chance to make your life the best it can be.

I hope these tips help you make the most out of your goals for the year!
